Open Position: Program Manager of Czech Center New York

Czech Center New York is looking to hire someone for the full-time position of Program Manager of Czech Center New York (located at the Bohemian National Hall, NYC).

 

 


JOB DESCRIPTION

- Project management, assisting the CCNY director (and CCNY colleagues) with creating and coordinating cultural programs and individual events with artists and partners

- Overall supervision and organization of CCNY events, rooms and halls setup, arranging services, rentals, transportation and catering, ensuring the screening and testing of film DVDs and Blue-ray discs

- Negotiating terms and conditions with partners and artists, obtaining personal data for contracts, ensuring invitation letters, arranging program of travel and visits of representatives, communication with the CC headquarters, obtaining PR material for events

- Overall preparation of joint programs with EUNIC and partner organizations

- Translations from Czech into English and vice versa; proofreading of written materials; occasional interpretation and providing Q&A’s

- Arranging internships and supervising interns’ workload at CCNY

- Office management, supervision of CCNY library (records and registration), fulfillment of tasks designated by the CCNY director  

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS


SKILL REQUIREMENTS

- Microsoft Office (primarily Excel, Word)

- Online platforms (ZOOM, Microsoft Teams)

- Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Calendar

- Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter)

- excellent organizational and coordination skills (detail-oriented, systematic project management skills, multitasking)

- excellent communication skills (for communicating with the CCNY team, artists, and partners)

- time flexibility (evenings)

 

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

- English level C1 (advanced/proficiency), Czech level B2/C1 (upper intermediate/advanced)

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS (one of these)

- BA/Bc. degree in English/American Studies, Czech Studies, Arts Management, Cultural Management, Diplomacy or similar focus

 

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS

- work authorized in the USA

 

PREFERRED SKILLS

- A/V documentation and postproduction (video-editing) skills

-  Adobe Premiere, Photoshop (or equivalent)

The employment includes a three-month period trial.

The location of work is Manhattan, New York, New York, USA.

Prior experience working in cultural management or a similar field preferred.

Due to the nature and demands of the work position, the chosen candidate must be work authorized in the USA and preferably be based in the USA. The employer does not compensate housing, health insurance, or parking costs.
