New colleagues in the leadership of the Czech Centres

There will be new directors in the Czech Center in London and New York since spring 2019, Přemysl Pela in London and Miroslav Konvalina in New York. Both of them come with plenty of experience from the field of culture, management connected to culture and extraordinary academic interests.

Miroslav Konvalina 

Miroslav Konvalina worked as a reporter for the Czech Radio in the United States and he is going to replace Barbara Karpetová and become the new director. The previous director´s four-year term has come to an end this year. The new director is planning to develop the Czech Center New York as a main initial center of public diplomacy of the Czech Republic in the United States. He would like to continue with what was time-proven, what Czech Centres in the US and in the world have been doing successfully and also uncover new possibilities, contacts, and projects in collaboration with prestigious cultural organizations in the US.

"We would like to present naturally the best what the Czech cultural venue offers in particular artistic genres. We will help especially to young talented artists to find ways how to creatively take part in festivals, shows, and projects. We will continue paying close attention to all of the generations of the Czech community not only in New York but also in other cities." stated Miroslav Konvalina. The base of the program composition will be music, theater and dance, art and design, architecture and also film and literature.
