Free April 29 concert features performances from newly released album "My Violin Legends
On Tuesday, April 29, 7:00 at Bohemian National Hall at Czech Center New York (321 E 73rd St, Manhattan), violinist Pavel Sporcl performs a program of works by Czech composers including the New York premiere of his own work, Bohemian Nostalgia. Admission is free.
Sporcl, who media refers to as, "a talent born once every hundred years," is one of the most significant and sought-after Czech violinists. He'll perform a program titled "My Violin Legends," with works by Ferdinand Laub, Eugene Ysaye, Jan Kubelek, Antonin Dvorak, Franz Drdla, Jaroslav Kocian, and the New York premiere of his own composition, Bohemian Nostalgia. Mr. Sprocl's new CD "My Violin Legends" (Supraphon) features works by the most significant Czech violin virtuosi of the period from Paganini to Oistrach, and includes many of the works on this program.
Joining Mr. Sporcl is pianist Petr Jirikovsky. Mr. Jirikovsky and Mr. Sprocl are frequent collaborators, having produced produced many recordings together including the the collected works of Antonin Dvorak for violin (Supraphon) as well as the recent "Legends" CD mentioned above.

About Pavel Sporcl
Violinist Pavel Sporcl has made a name for himself as one of the most significant and most sought-after Czech violinists performing today. A former student of Itzhak Perlman, Sprocl is a frequent guest on television and radio programs in addition to the world's most prestigious stages.
Sporcl has performed with finest orchestras of Europe and Asia including the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic, Orchestra National de France, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Orchestre de Paris, and many more.
With pianist Petr Jirikovsky, Mr. Sprocl has recorded numerous albums including the collected works of Antonin Dvorak for violin and piano released on the Supraphon label. Sporcl also collaborates with a variety of artists breaking down musical barriers across genres. With the project Gipsy Way, a gypsy dulcimer band, he has played over 200 concerts. In 2012 he recorded his first pop-crossover album, Sporcelain. Since 2012 he has taught violin at the Music Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.
