6 Minutes Night III: Czech and Slovak Artists Living in New York

Artists presentation.

Meet Czech and Slovak artists, musicians, filmmakers, photographers, singers and designers living and working in the New York City area. They will be challenged to present themselves and their project in a short presentation limited to six minutes for each. In English.

The 6 Minutes Night III, conceived as a platform for introducing smart, interesting and creative Czech and Slovaks, will feature this time Czech and Slovak artists living and creating in New York. They will each have only six minutes to present their work and project. Presentations will include the mesmerizing staged photography of Radka Salcmanova; Adultery, a documentary film project by Bara Jichova; disturbingly humorous art gablevages by Gabriel Levicky; behind the scenes of the art magazine Celebrating Print with editor Katerina Kyselica; art infused fashion by Jitka Exler - former puppet designer for the Muppets; and Sacred Geometry furniture design by Roman Heczko who will unveil his new Flower of Life Series Vesica chairs. Our 6 Minutes Night III event will also present talented members of the music community, singer Pavlina Horakova - a lively mezzo-soprano and her Libretto Metro project;  songwriter and jazz singer Martina Fiserova and her latest CD Shift. The actress and singer Katarina Vizina will introduce her retro Cabaret Metropol, and the young music composer and pianist Antonin Fajt will play samples of his esoteric work connecting Moravian and African elements.

Moderated by Christopher Harwood, PhD.
