GOLDILOCKS BY DRAK THEATER
(Puppet performance with culinary elements)
Based on “Goldilocks,” a well-known Czech fairytale, the production directed by Josef Krofta builds on the international success of an earlier award-winning production, „How Daddies Play“.  Set in a busy restaurant kitchen, the storybook tale unfolds amidst pots, pans, wooden spoons, blenders, and meat grinders, enveloping audiences in a mix of sensory experiences not often delivered from the stage.

2012 winner of Best Performance for Children at the International Festival of Puppet Theater in Bielsko-Biała, Poland.

3:45PM S/HE IS NANCY JOE BY TANTEHORSE
(Hip-hop, multimedia, street ballet, physical theater)

“’S/He’ is poignant but also terrific fun. Some of Cechova’s contortions reminded me of Pina Bausch’s corporal exaggerations; other moments brought to mind Gene Kelly .
Sarah Kaufman, The Washington Post

This dance/visual one-woman show, a “docu-drama” in the unique hybrid style of street-ballet performer Mirenka Cechova explores a range of themes - the transgender experience, body alienation, loneliness within society due to difference, and the desire for happiness and freedom. Influenced by street art, hip hop and comics, it features elements of street ballet and graffiti, plus a heavy dose of testosterone.

4:15PM SMALL HOUR BY 420PEOPLE
(modern dance)

„A performance of breathtaking beauty and intelligence“ – Dance Europe

A cornerstone production of 420PEOPLE, performed to great acclaim in a number of countries across the EU. A trilogy of duets centered on the theme of accepting the crucial occurrences that change
the course of one’s life.

4:45PM SOLO FOR LU BY ARCHA THEATRE
(multi-cultural storytelling)
“Solo for Lu” tells a story of tragedy and success set in 1980s China. The story explores today’s global questions and the West’s ambivalent relationship to China which ranges from admiration for its culture to fear of its economic hegemony.

5:15PM DER KAISER VON ATLANTIS BY OPERA MODERNE
(special guest, New York-based opera)
„A major new addition to New York’s operatic ecosphere“ Steve Smith, New York Times

What if Death went on strike? How could a mere mortal - even an emperor - bargain with him? That‘s the premise of the opera one-act opera Der Kaiser von Atlantis (The Emperor
of Atlantis) by Czech-Jewish composer Viktor Ullmann‘s with a libretto by Peter Kien. The tale is of an Emperor engaging in a war in which there will be no survivors. Death takes offense
at his role being usurped, and refuses to do his job. He acquiesces only after the Emperor makes the ultimate fatal deal with him.
