The Age of Cannibals

Part of Panorama Europe Film Festival. The Age of Cannibals (Zeit der Kannibalen), dir. Johannes Naber, Germany, 2014, 93 min.

This satirical film is about two slimy business consultants who get stuck with a strong willed female colleague instead of a promotion. Kai Niederländer (Blomberg) and Frank Öllers (Striesow) have been working together as a team for many years both are ruthlessly ambitious and both have personal problems. Their work takes them from developing country to developing country to advise companies on how to grow profits at any cost in order to satisfy these clients greed. They start to spiral out of control when a corporate take-over sends them into a tailspin that goes from bad to worse.

The film goes to extremes to expose the dehumanizing effects of the corporate rat race. It is set in a series of hotel rooms
