Concert: Jan Smigmator in New York

Jazz and swing singer Jan Smigmator will be performing in New York for the first time.

APRIL 6, 8PM
Winery at St. George, Mohegan Lake, NY

After his American debut in Chicago, Czech swing singer Jan Smigmator is coming to New York for the first time to perform as a special guest of London-based singer Mitch Winehouse and his American band at Winery at St. George in Mohegan Lake, NY.

Together they'll sing songs from their album Smigmator - GERSHWIN - Winehouse which was released in 2018 as a tribute to George Gershwin for his 120th birthday. In addition to the songs from the album, they'll perform songs from The Great American Songbook (Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Johnny Mercer, Jerome Kern, Hoagy Carmichael and more).

Through his voice and music, Jan Smigmator keeps the legacy of the greatest swing singers alive. He follows in the footsteps of such legends as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin, Bobby Darin, Mel Tormé, Karel Hála, or Tony Bennett. Smigmator studied jazz in Prague and later formed his own band Swinging Q. In 2013, he released his debut album Swing Is Back followed by Time to Swing in 2016, comprising Smigmator's own compositions.
