Czech Dream is a project that is reflecting oscillation of Czech Culture between skepticism and resignation on one side and thrill and expectation on the other side based on Czech historical experience. In our previous projects, we focused on the quality of bravery and courage as a virtue which can be demonstrated as outward strength. This project is looking at courage and bravery from an internal standpoint such as those who show strength through silence.
A collective art exhibition reflecting the uncertainty and confusion as a result of the historical experience.
The exhibition will display the works of artists which are unified by a certain sense of absurdity, irony, and allegory. It is the artist’s reflection of their internal immigration on a decision to step down to their own roots, to the base of an existence to the fundamental myths of Western civilization which appeared the most important for survival. The creative potential of Czech art of the 20th century grows from the tension between emptiness of life in totalitarian regime and isolation, and glorification of a messiah complex.
exhibition consists of two key parts, one dedicated to visual arts and the
other to animated and feature films. Visual art pieces will feature works
Boudník, Jan Kotík, Rudolf Volráb, Igor Korpaczewski, Daniel Pitín, Josef Bolf, Veronika Holcová, Jakub Janovský etc. The collection of animated and
feature films are directed by the following: Jan Němec, Pavel Juráček, Ester Krumbachová, Juraj Herz, Vít Klusák, Filip Remunda, etc.
