Come celebrate Czech Independence Day!


 

The Czech Center New York and the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in New York

 

present

 

"CZECH STREET FESTIVAL"

 

as a part of the CZECH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS which commemorate founding of the Independent Czechoslovak State in October 1918


will be held on SATURDAY, October 1st at 1 - 5pm

 

on the block of East 83rd Street between MADISON and PARK Avenues.

 

 

An afternoon full of CZECH MUSIC, FOOD, FUN for KIDS, a lot of Czech SOUVENIRS, free RAFFLE and much more.......


 

WIN a TRIP for 2 to PRAGUE, including roundtrip airfare and three-night stay in a hotel near the center of Prague, courtesy of the CZECH AIRLINES and TATRA TRAVEL BUREAU.


followed by "AFTER PARTY/CONCERT"

of the best Czech rock bands KRYSTOF and MIG21 at the PIER 63 on the Hudson River (W 23rd Street & W Side Highway) at 8 pm

CZECH STREET FESTIVAL

 

a free outdoor annual block party with music performances, folk arts, Czech food, and children's attractions.

 

Attractions will include culinary specialties - dishes prepared by chefs of the area's most choice Czech restaurants, including Bohemian Hall and Zlata Praha (Golden Prague). Look for goulash, roast pork, sauerkraut and dumplings (a national dish), kolace (pronounced"koLAHcha", pastries with fruit or cheese filling).

 

Vendors will have a splendid selection of  collectibles, glass, ceramics, wooden and fabric toys for children, Czech music, and all kinds of

souvenirs.....
