Dvořák's Chamber Music

Evening with Antonín Dvořák´s chamber music.

 

The background of a composition of Dvořák's song cycles by Michael Beckerman (DAHA).
 A peek into Dvořák's piano compositions and the presentation of the new Radioservis Dvořák Songs CDs by Adam Plachetka, accompanied by Tomáš Kačo (piano).

Adam Plachetka was educated at the conservatory in his native town of Prague. In addition to his many national competition victories, Adam won First Prize at Antonín Dvořák`s International Vocal Competition. In 2005 Adam made his debut at the National Theatre in Prague. Adam was awarded the prestigious title of ‘Artist of the Month’ for Feb. 09 by MusicalAmerica.com.

Adam Plachetka has already performed at many of the world's premier opera houses, including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Wiener Staatsoper, the Salzburger Festspiele, Glyndebourne Festival Opera, the Seoul Arts Center, Opéra de Nice, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Bruxelles, Festpielhaus Baden-Baden, Opéra Comédie Montpellier and Prague State Opera. In the 14-15 season he makes his Metropolitan Opera debut in Mozart's  Don Giovanni as Masetto. This season and beyond he makes several important debuts, including at Houston Grand Opera and Chicago Lyric Opera, as well as returning to the Salzburg Festival, Wiener Staatsoper, Covent Garden and the Metropolitan Opera.
Adam Plachetka released a solo CD of ‘Handel’s Oratorio Arias’ with the Czech Ensemble Baroque, conducted by Roman Válek in 2012.
