TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 6, 7-9PM in the Ballroom
These are healthy exercises created by Monica Rebcová based on some elements of the health-movement techniques, stretching and relaxation techniques combined in a 60 minute lesson. She has developed her own methodology based on years of experience in teaching movement.
This Healing Method teaches you good posture and strengthens muscles overall. This lesson also allows you to increase the range of motion of the spine and joints of the hands and feet and improves your balance, adds elegance and inspiration and will bring new mobility options.
In this lesson you relax and learn to move naturally. You will also while experience an influx of new energy. After the lesson you will not be tired, but full of power and in a good mood.
Dance improvisation and contact improvisation is a technique of modern dance, that everyone can try and experience, even untrained dancers. She does not use excessive motion or rational preparation; rather she "lets the motion move us” working with gravity and floor exercises. In the next part of the lesson we learn to create our own improvised movement into a short choreography - not only solo but also as a duet together with our partner. In this lesson you will discover in each other unsuspected possibilities of the new movement. The movement allows you to get to know yourself better and you will acquire a lot of confidence. With the accompaniment of relaxing "New Age" music during this lesson you will physically and mentally release and relax from everyday worries.
Exercise Healing Method is appropriate for humans of all ages and levels of physical options. Its aim is to help a person gain and improve physical and mental health and achieve harmony.
In September 2016 Monika will conduct a survey of teaching at the dance department at N.Y.U. and will be hosting this workshop at Czech Center New York. The workshop is designed for professional and amateur dancers and all those interested in dance and healthy movement. Age of participants is unlimited. Number of participants is 20 people.
