ID – IDEAL IDENTITY
February 28–April 30
Opening Reception: February 28, 6:30-8:30 PM
Czech Center New York
Curated by Jan Mančuška.
The theme of the exhibition ID – Ideal Identity is an attempt to capture various definitions of personal identity against the context of Central Europe.
All of the participating artists‘ work contains the shared theme of self-identification as a means of survival in a fluid and endlessly differentiated social environment. The exhibit can be understood as a scenario, a play where each artist plays or represents one character. In other words, a delineated space in which a future plot is to be played out.
