Iva Bittova

An opening concert by the acclaimed Czech musician Iva Bittova for the exhibition “Vladislav Kucharski: Paintings”.

Iva Bittová

Iva Bittová started studying with Professor Rudolf Šťastný, the primarius (first violin) of the Moravian String Quartet, in 1982. In the intervening years the violin has become her life’s passion and the most inspiring musical instrument in her professional life. Iva firmly believes that, as playing the violin places extreme demands on musicians, the composer’s work depends utterly on commitment and diligence. Iva Bittova has received numerous awards and recognitions Worldwide for her unique interpretation of folklore inspired music, and dramatically energetic “perforwomanship”.

Remarkable settings for Iva Bittová’s performances: Prague, Rudolfinum – Dvořák’s Auditorium; Brussels – Le Botanique; Amsterdam – Concertgebouw; Barcelona – Museum J. Miro; Tokyo – Radio FM Hall; London – Wigmore Hall and Purcell Room; New York – Carnegie Hall; Paris – Le Cigale; Dolomites (Italy) – a performance at the altitude of 2000 meters above sea level; Moravský Kras – Cave Kateřina

Free and open to the public; voluntary contributions welcome.

The exhibition “Vladislav Kucharski: Paintings” is on view at BBLA Gallery from April 9 – May 1. The viewing hours: Monday - Friday 10 am - 4 pm. (BBLA's exhibition space is occasionally closed for events. Please call 212-988-1733 to verify access.)
