NEW WORLD CONCERT

FEATURING THE UN CHAMBER MUSIC SOCIETY
OF THE UNITED NATIONS STAFF RECREATION COUNCIL
On Thursday Evening, May 4, 2017, at 7:00 pm, the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic to the United Nations, the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in New York, and the Czech Center New York will present the NEW WORLD CONCERT - featuring the UN Chamber Music Society of the United Nations Staff Recreation Council.
Under the High Patronage of the
Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the United Nations, H.E. Mrs.
Marie Chatardová, you are invited to attend this concert by the UN Chamber
Music Society – dedicated to the Czech Republic, as part of the New York
Philharmonic’s “New World Initiative.” The programme will feature the classical
chamber music masterpieces of the Czech Republic., including a chamber music
arrangement of Dvorák’s Symphony No. 9 in E Minor, Op. 95: From the New World.
The concert will take place in the ballroom of the Bohemian National Hall - the
landmark building built in part by the proceeds of an Antonín Dvorák led concert
in 1892. In celebration of the 125th anniversary of his arrival to New York the
Czech Center New York will be hosting a series of concerts in 2017 called
Dvorák's New World.
