Paper View 2012

A benefit party, art exhibition and silent auction of fine art prints to support programs of non-profit organization Manhattan Graphics Center and their new collaboration with Hollar Association of Czech Fine Art Printmakers.

On Tuesday, April 17, Manhattan Graphics Center in partnership with Czech Center New York and with the support of Bohemian Benevolent & Literary Association will host Paper VieW 2012, a benefit party and silent auction at the historic Bohemian National Hall in New York City. Proceeds from the event will benefit Manhattan Graphics Center’s programs in fine art printmaking and their international collaboration with Prague based Hollar Association of Czech Graphic Artists.

On view during a two-day preview and at the event will be more than 200 fine art prints and works on paper. All ticket holders at the party will take home a print or work on paper of their choosing. A lottery held at the door on Tuesday evening will allow all ticket holders to pick a number. During the party the numbers will be called in consecutive order and the luck of the draw will determine the order of selection. In addition, a select number of prints by acclaimed artists will be available by silent auction.

The prints and works on paper assembled for this event are donations from noted artists, fine print dealers, master printers and the Manhattan Graphics Center archives. The following Czech and Czech-American artist participate at the event, and their prints will be on display and available at the event: Darja Cancikova, Zbynek Hraba, Zdena Huskova, Pavel Charousek, Milli Janatkova, Katerina Kyselica, Alena Laufrova, and Pavel Piekar. The works cover a wide range of techniques and mediums, and present a breadth of subject matter and creative diversity seldom seen in a single exhibit. Please check  www.manhattangraphicscenter.org  for an online exhibition of works offered.

A light buffet dinner, dessert, wine and beer will be served, and live music will add to the festivities.
