Concert Choir Permonik was founded in 1966 in a miner town of Karviná as a school choir of elementary school. Today, Permonik is a choir of Music School of Bedřich Smetana. The name – Permonik- is name of a miner´s good spirit and for Karviná region, an area both rough and beautiful, it is a symbol of human friendship and solidarity.

Concert of a Children's Choir.

The choir tries to bring pleasure in singing and good time to audiences in its home country and abroad. It´s excellent perfomances could hear auditors in Europe, China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Russia and also in the USA.

The choir had the honour to present contemporary vocal production in many international competitions, when it won or get some high awards.

For example Llangollen and Carmarten in Wales, Tokyo, Busan-South Korea, St. Petersburg Russia, Warsaw-Poland, etc. Choir was also guest of many festivals, for example on World Harp Congress in Prague, organization ISME, Prague Spring, European Festival of Carols in the National Opera of Warsaw, etc..

Many Czechs directors and orchestras cooperated with Permonik and also many contemporary composers from all over the world write for our choir. Product of this artistic work is recorded on 12 CDs. By the way, choir was concerned in CD of an american composer Ofer Ben- Amots which was published by Naxos .

The founder of choir Permonik is Eva Šeinerová who is still its choirmaster.

Mrs. Šeinerová´s direction is a unique combination of demanding technical quality with deep emotional expression and execution. One of her greatest strengths is her ability to encourage children´s enthusiastic participation in vocal music. Her system, based on voice training, education and mastery of music theory, brings children to combine emotion with precise singing technique.
