The Czech Center 2015 ROOFTOP CINÉ-CONCERT SERIES presents another bespoke event on Tuesday 28 July at 7pm.

WATCH CINÉ-CONCERT TEASER

This 1937 early ‘talkie’, directed by Sam Wood fits in perfectly with the ‘Fallen Women’ theme of the chosen films. A woman is thrown out of her home by her jealous husband and sinks into depravity. Twenty years later, she finds herself accused of murder for saving her son, who does not know who she is. He finds himself defending her without knowing her background.

Joseph Morag is a winner of Columbia concerto competition, and concert master of NY Youth Symphony.

Director: Sam Wood (with Gustav Machatý contributing), 1937, 72 min., "early talkie"
