Evening of readings and discussion of new literature from Europe with Matthias Politycki, Germany, Quim Mondó, Spain, Philippe Claudel, France, Iva Pekarkova, Czech Republic, and Domenico Starnone, Italy.

Iva Pekarkova, a rare phenomenon among Czech women writers, published several short stories and a novella in samizdat in the early eighties. She began writing novels while living in the United States and Thailand, drawing on her emigré and working experiences.

Presented by the Czech Center New York, the Goethe-Institut New York, Instituto Cervantes, Istituto Italiano di Cultura, and the Cultural Services of the French Embassy.
