The Czech Center New York, under the auspices of the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic to the United Nations and the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in New York, presents a multimedia project launching more than a month long program to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust.



OPENING RECEPTION & EXHIBITION BY XÉNIA HOFFMEISTEROVÁ: 
TUESDAY, JANUARY 27, 6:30PM, Opening remark by Rabbi Arthur Schneier.

CLOSING RECEPTION:

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 6:30PM,  Musical performance by students of Mannes College.
Followed by a screening of the film Eugenic Minds and Q&A with the dir. by Pavel Štingl at 8PM.

MEMORIAL SERVICE:
SUNDAY, MARCH 8, 2PM, Led by Rabbi Norman Patz. In collaboration with the Society for History of Czechoslovak Jews.

Lecture by Robert Řehák, Cultural Attaché at the Czech Embassy in Washington, DC, explores the history and legends of Jews in Prague.

PERFORMING CAPTIVITY AND BEYOND by Untitled Theater Company #61
A staged reading of plays and cabaret songs written in Terezín, from Lisa Peschel's anthology Performing Captivity, Performing Escape and other sources demonstrating the vibrancy and healing power of art, even in the most dire of circumstances.

In commemoration of Czech and Slovak Jewish victims of Nazism. Organized by the Society for the History of Czechoslovak Jews.

Students from Mannes College The New School for Music will perform compositions by Erwin Schulhoff at both the opening and closing ceremonies of the month-long Holocaust commemoration.*
