Borek Sipek - SOFA 2011

ART FAIR. Sculpture Objects & Functional Art (SOFA) Fair, April 14-17, 2011 at the Park Avenue Armory. Special talk about international architect/designer Borek Sipek, his new glass art collection and his illustrious collaborators presented by design historian Majda Kallab, Saturday, April 16th, 4 – 5pm

The Arzenal Gallery presents its leading artist, Borek Sipek.

Sipek will introduce his new collection of distinctive Bohemian glassworks along with pieces designed by other renowned designers such as Ron Arad, Andrea Branzi, Toshiyuki Kita, Alberto Meda, Shigeru Uchida, Nanda Vigo and Oscar Tusquets.  These well known and established contemporary designers continue to impress the art world through their endeavors in new and exciting projects. This time, they are taking advantage of the opportunity to work in close cooperation with Borek Sipek and his skilled glassblowers in an extraordinary glass studio in Northern Bohemia.  The unique collection reflects a combination of creativeness, craftsmanship and machinery - turning imagination and creativity in design - to reality.

SOFA marks Borek Sipek's official entry to the US design & art world.  He will unveil his new collection there, giving us all an opportunity to view and purchase unique pieces of Bohemian glassworks. As the personal architect and designer for Karl Lagerfeld and a leading designer for Driade, Vitra and Sevres, Borek Sipek continues to be sought by many companies and personalities, including most recently by Christian Dior and Oprah Winfrey.

Special talk about international architect/designer Borek Sipek, his new glass art collection and his illustrious collaborators presented by design historian Majda Kallab, Saturday, April 16th, 4 – 5pm.
Arzenal gallery will be located at booth number 109.
