The Future of the Jews, 70 years after the Holocaust

Panel discussion by Ambassador Stuart E. Eizenstat, Ambassador Tomáš Pojar and New York based artist Mark Podwal moderated by Deputy Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the UN Jiří Ellinger.

Please join us for a panel discussion with Ambassador Stuart E. Eizenstat, Special Adviser for Holocaust Issues for the U.S. State Department, and Tomas Pojar, Czech Ambassador to Israel from 2010 to 2014.

Ambassador Eizenstat is arriving from France, where recent terrorist attacks included a kosher supermarket. While 7,000 French Jews have relocated to Israel in 2014, stating fears of rising anti-Semitism, Jews across Europe are expressing growing anxiety that ongoing economic hardships and social upheaval in the face of terror are leading to excessive nationalism, and that Jews may become scapegoats again, as they were before the outbreak of World War II that led to the Holocaust.

Can Jews feel safe in their countries of origin?

The Czech Center New York, under the auspices of the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic to the United Nations and the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in New York, presents more than a month long program to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust.     http://new-york.czechcentres.cz/program/event-details/shoah-in-us/
