Two Lines

NYC launch of translation anthology featuring Czech and Slovak authors.

The San Francisco-based Center for the Art of Translation comes to New York to celebrate the release of its annual translation anthology, TWO LINES, with a reading and party at indie bookstore McNally-Jackson.

Co-produced by The Bridge, this event brings together editor Luc Sante with translators Patrick Philips, Alex Zucker, Alyson Waters, and Adam Giannelli, and Czech author Magdaléna Platzová, for a night of literature from Egypt, the Czech Republic, Argentina, and more.

This year's TWO LINES anthology, titled Counterfeits, also features stories by Slovak authors Leopold Lahola and Uršuľa Kovalyk (both trans. Julia Sherwood) and Czech authors Martin Reiner (trans. Andrew Oakland) and Antonín Bajaja (trans. Andrew Oakland and Gabriela Oaklandová).
