After a busy opening week for the exhibition Rusalka, which included two lively grand openings, a beautiful concert in our Ballroom and the Metropolitan Opera’s stunning and well received new production of Rusalka, the Czech Center is happy to share that the Czech media has helped us reach over 1.5 million people across the Czech Republic through print & online articles, television and radio coverage about the exhibition and the opera.
The level of excitement in the Czech Republic has been extraordinary; media outlets and the general public are excited that a beloved Czech opera has found its place in the Met‘s repertoire and Dvořák's manuscript has been presented to American audiences for the first time.
The upcoming live broadcast of the opera in Czech theaters on February 25th through The Met: Live in HD initiative, in collaboration with the Czech distributor Aerofilms, is sure to be a great treat for those opera lovers unable to visit New York themselves as well as potential opera fans interested in a new art form. The opera will be streamed to over one hundred theaters across the Czech Republic, bringing the Met’s Rusalka to life across the globe.
