The guest of our fourth edition of Video Journal is a Czech-American curator Charlotta Kotík, who speaks about her interests in the arts and culture and her recent curatorial project the exhibition Artists as Activists at the National Czech and Slovak Museum and Library in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Charlotta Kotík is an art historian, critic, and curator focused on contemporary art and its interconnectedness to the past, present, and future. Influenced by her experience of living in different political systems, she is drawn to artists whose works reflect their social and political realities. Though she deals mainly with artists based in the United States and Czech Republic, her interests span far beyond these countries to the plethora of international practices by veteran and emerging artists alike. She is based in Brooklyn, New York.
